Iowa Interdisciplinary Infectious Disease Threats Collaborative (I3DTC)

Infectious Disease Threats in Rural Areas

Timileyin Adediran, assistant professor of epidemiology in the University of Iowa College of Public Health, has been selected by the Institute for Public Health Practice, Research and Policy (IPHPRP) to establish a new infectious disease collaboratory. The initiative will bring together researchers, students, public health professionals, and community partners to address infectious disease challenges in Iowa and other rural communities. Led by Dr. Adediran, the collaboratory will foster interdisciplinary collaboration through seminars, networking events, and an annual research conference. Over the next year, the team will identify research priorities, assess existing resources, develop a researcher directory, and create a strategic plan for a long-term center focused on innovative infectious disease research and future funding opportunities.

Collaboratory Aims

Aim 1
