Roger Hileman

Evaluation and Assessment Associate

Roger Hileman received his MA in Psychological and Quantitative Foundations from the University of Iowa. Prior to coming to work for the University of Iowa, he performed test development and evaluation for career development programs at ACT in Iowa City, Iowa, developing test items in various subject areas such as applied math, reading, graphic literacy, teamwork, and observation assessments.

He also reviewed and evaluated workforce training materials in a web-based system called KeyTrain. Other evaluation activities included test item performance and workplace skill alignments to state and national standards. In ACT’s research area, Roger spent four years developing and appraising college and career data for ACT Profile, a career exploration website, which included the Career Interest Survey. 

Since coming to the Iowa’s College of Public Health, Roger has been involved in test item writing, workforce development, and program evaluation activities for the Institute of Public Health Practice and the Midwestern Public Health Training Center. Roger is also a published author, having co-authored four novels, and a musician, directing Zion Brass and performing with CR Jazz.
