Who We Are

We are University of Iowa College of Public Health faculty, staff, and students. We are home to trainers, statisticians, community builders, and administrators.

Background

The Institute for Public Health Practice, Research and Policy (IPHPRP) was established in 2023 with the merger of the former Institute for Public Health Research and Policy with the Institute for Public Health Practice, the Midwestern Public Health Training Center, the Center for Public Health Statistics and the Policy Research Project formerly with the Public Policy Center.

The institute is comprised of the Public Health Practice and Workforce Development Core, the Statistical/Analytics Core, and the Research and Evaluation Core. This new structure will expand support of Iowa’s public health and health care entities in population health and strategically invest available financial resources and staffing expertise to maximize the college’s impact in the practice, research, and policy arena.

Mission

The IPHPRP contributes expertise to bettering the health of Iowans as well as to meet the high-quality accreditation standards set by the Council on Education for Public Health through the following strategies:
