Tasneem Ali

Health Equity Program Coordinator

Tasneem Ali, B.A. works as a Health Equity Program Coordinator at the Institute of Public Health Practice, Research and Policy and the Midwestern Public Health Training Center (MPHTC).

She started her work as a Research Assistant while she was completing her bachelor’s in Public Health from the University of Iowa. Some of her work involves collaborating with health department leaders across the state of Iowa to carry out the Building Health Equity Training (BHE), which includes:

  • Continuing to improve, revise, and deliver the Health Equity curriculum.
  • Managing program evaluations through surveys, interviews, and other evaluative tools.
  • Overseeing and providing content on the Learning Management System.

Ms. Ali coordinates the BHE Learning Collaborative, which includes more than 15 health department leaders, across Iowa who meet monthly to discuss ways to advance health equity in the state. Additionally, she oversees the BHE webinars and manages the communications of the BHE initiative by disseminating a monthly BHE newsletter, communicating with public health practitioners, and updating the website.

Ms. Ali has a strong passion for public health and improving the health of the communities which is why she’s pursuing an MPH to further her skills and knowledge.
