Communicating Data Trainings
The Communicating Data training series is designed to help public health professionals build their skills, knowledge, and confidence when it comes to interpreting and communicating data.
The format of these trainings will be a combination of presentation, large group discussion, and one small group activity.

Visualize This – Online Training
When: Thursday, February 19th from 1-3pm
Learn how to identify and communicate the main message from your data and develop the best visualizations to create an impactful public health story.

Disaggregate It! – Online Training
When: Thursday, March 26th from 1-3pm
This virtual training will help you understand the importance of disaggregating data, how to identify disparities within disaggregated data, and how these concepts apply to public health practice.

This session provides practical guidance on selecting appropriate chart types, applying effective formatting, creating visualizations for descriptive epidemiological data and comparisons, and choosing the right visualization format for clear public health communication.

This training aims to give you a foundational knowledge of the role of data in public health, important data characteristics, data quality, and commonly-used data sources. This training has been recently revamped in June, 2025 to feature more relevant content.
