Education is one of the most important modifiable determinants of health. Many key social and environmental factors cause a disproportionate number of racial and ethnic minority, gender nonconforming, and low SES students to drop out of school early, which often has lasting negative consequences on their health and the number of opportunities available for success. This American Public Health Association Report highlights these key inequities, those most at risk for not receiving a full education, and strategies that can be adopted to advance health and educational equity.
