Iowa LGBTQ Health Needs Assessment 2021

This report, produced by the Iowa Department of Public Health, One Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa, displays the findings from the 2021 Assessment of the Health and Wellness Needs of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Iowans. Key topics in this needs assessment were physical and mental health status, general wellness, experience with tobacco and nicotine, health care, and dental care. The goal of the assessment is to generate information to illuminate the needs of the Iowa LGBTQ+ population and to start conversations, inspire action, and bring attention to the needs of this community.
