View the seventeenth installment of the Building Health Equity webinar series, Time to Combat Disparities in Maternal Health. We featured Nafla Poff-Dainty, Executive Officer of Maternal Health & Family Planning at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, and Bea Sanchez-Vazquez, Project Planner and Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) Data Manager at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.

We discussed the most pressing concerns and issues related to maternal health in Iowa, the potential root causes of those issues, and explored ways on how hospitals, health systems, and community partners can join forces to examine and address disparity issues related to maternal health.

  1. Discuss the most pressing concerns and issues related to maternal health through a health equity lens.
  2. Address certain populations that face barriers to maternal health.
  3. Explore any potential partnerships or strategies to address maternal health issues among diverse population groups
