After struggling to close health disparities for years, health departments across the United States are taking part in a new movement of using strategic practices to confront the power imbalances and forms of oppression at the root of health inequities. They are changing the conversations about what creates health equity, developing leadership and supporting innovation, and building a movement for health equity. The Health Equity Guide website is structured around a set of strategic practices for health departments to use to advance health equity in their communities including building organizational capacity, building government and community alliances, mobilizing research, and more.
