Children are particularly vulnerable to environmental health hazards that can impact their health both short and long term. Existing disparities, particularly related to the surroundings children grow up in, put certain groups at a higher risk of exposure to these hazards. This report by the American Public Health Association describes the primary conditions affecting children’s environments and recommendations for government agencies to address these risks equitably.
