Safe and accessible water is critical for health, but a variety of issues can lead to a lack of clean water. Vulnerable populations, such as children, older adults, communities of color, and low-income populations bear a higher burden of water-related health issues. This report by the APHA describes some of the top water issues causing health concerns, how certain populations are more vulnerable to these issues, and recommendations for federal, state, and local agencies to take action on these issues.
