The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) initiative “Safe and Accessible Streets for All Users” part of their Health Equity Guide explains why street infrastructure and transportation strategies are related to health equity; lists considerations communities should make when designing, implementing, and evaluating transportation interventions; and lists partnerships that should be considered when approaching transportation equity changes. The document also shares some examples of “Health Equity in Action” through success stories of real communities implementing interventions to address transportation issues and the health equity issues that arise from them.
