Combat Cancer TA Upcoming Sessions
The Combat Cancer Technical Assistance (TA) project is designed to improve Iowa’s approach to cancer through building a hub-and-spoke network aimed at expanding cancer support of hospitals statewide and keeping care local for Iowans in rural communities.
We welcome and encourage attendance from all Iowa groups who support rural cancer prevention and care including: rural hospitals, critical access hospitals, rural primary care clinics such as Federally Qualified Health Centers, Rural Health Clinics, independent practices, oncology providers and cancer centers, behavioral health and substance use providers, public health departments, community-based organizations and nonprofits, pharmacies, aging and disability service organizations, Community Action Agencies, rural coalitions, and other relevant healthcare and social service entities involved in cancer prevention, screening, treatment, or survivorship.

Webinar – An introduction to the Iowa Cancer Consortium
When: Friday, September 25th from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Learn how collaboration drives progress in cancer prevention and control during this introductory webinar about the Iowa Cancer Consortium.
Participants will explore the fundamentals of comprehensive cancer control, discover the value of working across organizations and sectors to address Iowa’s cancer burden, and learn practical ways to get involved with the Consortium. The session will also highlight the benefits of Consortium membership and introduce the Iowa Cancer Plan as a valuable resource for cancer-related planning, program development, implementation, and evaluation. Whether you are new to cancer control or looking to expand your impact, this webinar will provide a foundation for meaningful engagement in Iowa’s statewide cancer control efforts.

Combat Cancer TA Kickoff Webinar
When: Monday, June 29th from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.
The University of Iowa and Iowa HHS will host a kickoff webinar to share an overview of Iowa’s Rural Health Transformation Program and the Combat Cancer Technical Assistance (TA) project. The event will provide an overview of Iowa’s rural health transformation, explain the Combat Cancer TA project goals, and describe how to get engaged and what assistance will be available.
