Dental Infection Prevention Scholarship

About

The goal of the scholarship program is to help employees of dental offices receive funds to help cover the costs of certification prep materials and exams.

The program is available for employees seeking to be Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control. The credentials are offered by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). The program will provide up to $1,100 to eligible employees to reimburse the cost of exam fees as well as books and study programs needed to prepare for the exam. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed through this program. 

Once successfully paid for and completed the exam, candidates will be eligible to submit expense receipts to be reimbursed, for the exam and study materials.

Certificates That Are Eligible for Reimbursement:

Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control Exam Requirements

There are education and experience requirements to apply for the CDIPC exam. This is the main pathway to earn CDIPC certification, with several education and experience options available.

EDUCATION

Option 1

  • Pass DANB’s ICE exam within the last 5 years or currently hold CDA, COA, NELDA, or DISIPC certification

Option 2

  • Complete steps one and two. You only need to select one option from step two.
  1. Hold the OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate™ AND
  2. Complete one of the education options:
    a. DALE Foundation’s DANB® ICE® Review course OR
    b. From Policy to Practice: OSAP’s Guide to the CDC Guidelines OR
    c. OSAP’s OSHA & CDC Guidelines: OSAP Interact Training System OR
    d. OSAP Dental Infection Control Boot Camp™ OR
    e. Graduate from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited dental assisting or dental laboratory technology program OR
    f. Hold an associate degree or higher in a dental, healthcare, life sciences or applied life sciences field

EXPERIENCE

Complete at least 1,040 hours of work experience as a dental assistant, hygienist, dentist, office manager, educator, consultant, trainer, or dental inspector/investigator.
